Blessing in disguise....
Emmalyn Reese is now 4-1/2 Months old. I dont even know where the last four months have gone. In fact I dont know where the last 4 years have gone. Sheez! Well you may not know this but Justin (my husband) was toying with the idea of only having two children. However, I told him..."Nope, God has another child for us and its a girl." (He has so badly wanted a girl.) He didnt believe me and when I became pregnant (a little sooner then expected) he was certain we would have three boys. I was not suprised when the sonogram showed a little "butterfly". Though I knew God was giving us a girl, I wasnt opposed to it, but not all to thrilled about it either. I had always wanted all boys, and the thought of having a girl was scary. I didnt know what to do with a little prissy thing in pink! But I have to tell you. I LOVE EMMALYN! She is so beautiful, so sweet, the happiest, cuddliest, loving child. She is a good baby who causes very little problems for me. Though I was afraid to have another girl in the family and loose my title as queen of the castle, I am happy to share my position with her. She is my little angel, my little blessing in disguise.

the right path...
I can remember being 13 and spending the summer with my mom's cousin, Jill. One day on my stay there, I expressed to her my love and desire to one day be a photographer. She handed me an old, in my mind ancient looking camera. At the time I did not know what I held in my hand was very valuable and would soon be an antique. I cant even tell you today what I did with that camera and I regret so much not holding on to it. Having children has made me value so much more what she did for me the day when she handed me that camera. She was encouraging me and guiding me to follow my dreams. Unfortunately, my dream never stopped there but it never flourished the way it should have. I have owned many cameras and made many attempts to learn the art but have been fairly unsuccessful. Dont get me wrong I have taken some good pictures but none like I see in the magazines, none like the ones I long to capture. About 3 months or so ago I bought my first DSLR camera and put my heart and my head 100% in the direction of learning to photograph like the pros. Though I am a long ways off I have already come a long way and I am in love with this art! In fact, its an obsession! I am like most young ladies these days that really strive and at the same time struggle to stand out and "find myself" in todays society. Now that I have my camera, I have truly, as corny as it sounds found myself. I am now on the path that I feel I was supposed to be on that summer my cousin gave me that camera. I steer my mind away daily from the thoughts of where I would be had I learned then to take photos. But I shake that thought because I feel I found my way again. Nothing makes me more happy then taking photos and capturing moments in time! Capturing God's beautiful creations! I am truly inspired by what my cousin Jill did for me that summer and I only hope that I can provide that very same guidance to my children when they find passion in something.
Here are a few of my favorites so far. One day I hope to look back at this blog as a professional, having my own successful business.
